Autumn nodded and smiled at him, “Thanks for understanding,” She said getting a bit red with the embarassment of the accusation she just made. “I’m really sorry, Seth is just… Seth.” She said with a bit of a laugh. “Even though he’s older than me, I feel the need to protect him.” She finished. And she smiled at him to hear he cared so much about his cousin, because it just meaned he could care. “It’s really nice to hear how much you love your cousin,” She said with a smile. The bell to warn them that there were only a few minutes until class rung and she frowned. “I’m not sure I’m quite done getting to know you Mr. Coyne. I’m not really feeling English.” She finished with a small smile stepping back as they stopped in the middle of the hallway.

Autumn looked up at him and gave him a genuine smile. “No, no, not at all,” She started. She thought about her family, and this question was oddly personal. She hadn’t really expirenced anyone with deeply questionable problems. The hardest problem anyone had in her family was her brother being made fun of. She then remembered… “Wait, you don’t make fun of my brother, Seth, do you?” She asked frowning now and pulling the straps of her backpack even tighter. “I don’t care about your past, because we all make mistakes… I just know a few guys have been jerks to Seth…” She said trailing off, now just waiting for him to give a response.

She shrugged at this response and looked at him. “Well that has to be an honest answer, and I appreciate that.” She said with a bit of a happy sigh. “Right now, it’s hard to believe any of the bad things I’ve heard about you.” she said looking up at him with bright eyes. She hesitated with her next thought, and bit her lip. “I feel like I’m getting too personal or annoying, am I?” She asked pulling nervously at her backpack.

Autumn put a finger to her lips and thought for a moment. She looked down at her feet and thought about asking a few of her friends about Oliver. They told her somethings, how he wasn’t that good, but she ignored them. “Well… I’ve heard quite a few things,” She started looking back up at him and furrowing her brow a little bit. “To be honest, they weren’t all good.” She frowned. With a heavy sigh she looked up at him and stopped in her tracks. “If I heard bad things about you, would any of them be true?” She asked him.
